CRIMSON CRUSHES PENN STATE, 46–13 Nittany Lions Air Attack Makes Game Closer Than Score Indicates. ~AMBRIDGE, Mass, October Is. ALI but one of the gears in \ Harvards powerful foot ball machine meShed perfectly today as it wore down the hard-fghting Nittany Lions from Benn State for a wide-open 1918 victory. The game was much closer than that top-heavy score indicated. for the Lions consistently threatened with their brilliant overhead attack. Many times dur ing the early stages the Crimson was caught fiat-tooted while Capt. George Collins and Bill Lohr, the Lions crack passing duo, were in action. and this pair capitalized Harvard’s only weak ness for a tctal overhead gain Of 107 yards. a large share OF which paved lhe way for Penn States two touch downs The Crimson’s powerful interference enabled its running attack to make 397 yards. and 81 more were gained through the air for a total CT % first downs. Penn States running game clicked for 125 yards. and the passing gain boosted its frst-doWn total to IL.
