Outgained on the ground and IN the air, the Wildcats turned back two determined v. NJ. I. threats, silenced Keydet Passer Bob Thomasons aerial thrusts with effective ness and sent Mack Erwin, sophomore fullback, plunging across with the fourth-period marker which gained the tie. Buck williams, vieing with the Virginians’ Ken Darlington for extra point accuracy, converted both attempts from placement. A desperate Thomson to George Crowson aerial counted 56 v. NJ. I. yards deep into Davidson territory with seconds remaining. Bullet Bob pitched again, this time to End Fritz Crytzer on the nine, but on the final play of the game the Davidson line broke through, mailing Thomason and preserving the deadlock.
