M|DD|ES SMOTHER CARLISLE INDIANS Navy Eleven Shows Great In provement and Runs Up a Score of 81 to O. ANNAPOLIS. Nd, October 20.-Showing complete mastery of practically every department of the game. and manifesting degree of Improvement over their showing against West Virgfnfa two weeks ago that was truly wonderful, Navy thfe afternoon handed the Redskins from Carlisle such a wal loping as the Indians have never been asked to take at Annapolis. The final score was 61 to in favor of the Sailors. and would undoubtedly have been from to Il points more had not Coach Dobie taken his first team out at the beginning OF the final period. During each of the first three quarters the Sailors registered three touchdowns, and to all but two of these there was added a goal from the toe of young Bill Ingram. The Indians showed startling lack of any of the old-time pep and trickiness which was their watchword and slogan during the days when Glenn Warner was their coach and mentor. The only man in their lineup who was at all dangerous was Lassa, a veteran of last season. Lassa gave the Middy runners ali the trouble they wanted, when carrying the ball He could not, however. play the game alone. and got lttie or no support from his team mates.

Navy Team Overwhelms Carlisle Indian School Annapolis, Md, Oct. 22.-Outplayed in every department of the game and meeting team which uncovered just the type of football their own predecessors at Carlisle used to serve to opponents in the days of Glenn Warner, the Indians on Saturday were defeated by the Mid shipmen. The final score was 81 to 0 in favor of the Middle. While the Indians were utterly helpless and at no time dangerous, the sailors revealed every variety of football with the exception of field goal kicking. They would undoubtedly have been able to deliver this kind of tally had it been necessary. In the game it would be hard to pick any stars, as Dobie seems to have built a fairly we’ll balanced team. The Indians had literally moth ing in the way of modern football, and in the realm of individual play showed only one star, this was Lassa, who played an exceptional defensive game at left tackle.
