HARVARD IT. BowDoIN Q. Cambridge, Mass, Oct. 5.-HarvardI cored an easy victory over Bowdoin in he football game on Soldiers field this fternoon, winning by the score of 17 zo 0. The Harvard offense proved to Se effective, but the play on the whole vas ragged. The most notable feature Tas the evenness of Harvard’s second let of backs. Nichols, the regular eft half back, was given rest, and Ianley took his place. Nesmith play Ed in Hurley’s regular position These wo backs were able at almost every urn to reel off from four to six yards. Hills, who played full back, also proved a tower of strength. The most discouraging feature of the game was the weakness of Harvard’s defense at times. Car, of Harvard, the old Exeter Jackie, proved a find both in offense |tnd defense. Both quarterbacks were s,areIess in handling the ball. The punt Ing was very poor, only one exceeding thirty yards, Moves getting away one kick of thirty-five yards.
