It kind Of looks as though the cham poinship world series games would be arranged so that the big park at the west side would get the majority of the games. They have a seating ca pacity nearly double the Detroit grounds and Hughey Jennings has asked the national commission, in case the Tigers win the pennant, to have the two opening games at Chicago. 1t looks as though Tommy Murphy and his manager do not want any of Packy McFarland’s game after all. The men are matched at Indianapolis and Nurphy’s money is up in New York, while Mcfarland has his cash up at the club. Now Murphy’s manager wants Packy’s money posted in New York and wants 1t raised from $50 to $500. Anything to make a break. Harvard barely won from Bowdoin Yesterday by a score Of 5 to 0 in the opening game of the football season. yale, on the other hand, put it over Wesleyan by a score of % to 0. The Cubs beat New York yesterday in a freak game by a score of IS to Z. Brown and Durbin did the twirling against Taylor. The Pullman Yacht club will hold the next race next Sunday.
