The field goal. and a last minute touchdown. put Penn State in front, Is to 7. It was a courageous comeback for a State team upon whom it appeared the roof might have fallen in the third quarter. The story of Penn States bad luck in the third period started with a Nebraska punt. Jim Pollard fielded that punt on his own Is and made dazzling 75-yard run for what appeared to be States second touchdown. But State had been offside on the play. That not only cost Penn State Pollard’s fine run but ii gave Nebraska a first down on the Nebraska 46. On the very next play, John Bordogna, a quarter back turned halfback for this game, broke loose and ran to the Penn State one. then scored the touchdown himself.
