Crimson Drops Fifth Straight for Schools S Worst Losing Streak CAMBRIDGE, Mass, Oct. a. Another sorrowful page in Harwards 75-year -old football history was written today as the Dart mouth Indians gained a 27–13 victory before 10000 crowd at the Stadium. It marked the first time Harvard ever has lost five consecutive games. Last week Army subjected Harward to one of its most humiliating defeats Of all time by over whelming it, 54–14. Twice, since 1880, Harvard has lost four but tied in a five-game stretch. Sharp-shooting Johnny Clay ton, who now has completed 81 out of his So aerial tries this season, set up three of the Indians four touchdowns with his deadly throwing. And he set the stage for the other one with a 30-yard run to Harvard’s two-yard mark. from where Bill Dey plunged over, early in t., first period. Dey Takes Scoring Pass. Clayton worked a 29-yard aerial to winger Dave Beeman on Harwards two in the second period just before Hal Fitkin’s touch down plunge. Then Johnny contacted Dey with a 30-yard scoring heave to give his forces a 200 halftime lead. : Early in the third period, long Clayton passes to Beeman and Tom Rowe, another glue fingered winger, moved the ball to Harwards is. Ed Isbey then scampered around left end for Dartmouth’s fourth and final touchdown. The Harvard scores, spread over the last two quarters, were made in the same fashion, for ward pass from Jim Henry to Art Hyde and q lateral to Chuck Roche. The latter ran Is yards on his first trip into the Dartmouth end zone and 40 on his second scoring dash. Staley Rc-o-..crj FumbIe. Late in the game, when Tiny Carroll Lowenstein took over the Harvard pitching, the Crimson’s woefully battered forces managed to go from their Is to Dartmouth’s 80, where Dartmouth Snapper back Paul Staley recovered a tumble made after a 28-yard pass had been completed. Dartmouth, which has bowed only to Pennsylvania in its previous three 1949 starts, now has won 10 of the SO games it has played with the Crimson since 1882. But 13 of the Indians Harward scalpings have taken place during the past two decades. DARTMOUTH. Left endS-Beeman, IArigan. Left tackles-Eberle. Monahan. .
