Penn Is 21-to-0 Victor In Dull Game With Feeble Dartmouth PHILADELPHIA, Oct. Cain ing strength along the way, Penn sylvania trounced a surprisingly feeble Dartmouth football team today, 81 to 0. A crowd of $3.50 at the opening Franklin Field football game OF the season saw a very dull game marked by an unending string OF fumbles, pass interceptions and blocked kicks. Penn finally got going in the last half, shaking Bob Deuber loose on a 69-yard punt return and Bill Rhoads on a 67-yard GAL lop around end, both for touch downs. The fans alternately groaned and cheered during an incredible second quarter in which Penn and Dartmouth traded fumbles. Four of them came within the space of a single minute and that is probably some kind of a football record. All told, there were IL fumbles, Penn’s line, led by Herb Agocs, q standout end all afternoon. blocked three kicks. Dartmouth caught five Penn passes. Wayne Linman doing the intercepting on three. Penn’s first touchdown came with less than three minutes to go in the first half. Penn found itself on Dartmouth’s rs after Agocs blocked a kick by John Chapman. There, a big shouldered gentle man named Robert (Snaky) Graham slammed himself into the middle of the Dartmouth line seven straight times and when the referee implied the pack, he found that Graham had scored. The ever-present Agocs place. kicked the extra point. He performed the same chore after each of the other two touchdowns. Penn made the outcome of the game definite after 2A minutes OF the second half. Deuber gathered in Bob Tyler’s punt on the Penn 81, ducked in behind some bone jarring blocks and ran the dis tance untouched. With lightning suddenness, Penn struck for it’s final touch down with two minutes remain ing in the game. Rhoads took a direct pass from center, headed around his right end and kept right on going for 81 yards and a touchdown.
