.49 Team, Is Best of Totum’s Three at Maryland, Observers Aqree After 33–7 Rout of Hoyos “a pass batted into Kuchta’s hands by the Georgetown defense, and two interceptions. But Maryland made the most Of every opportunity. Coach Bob Margarita OF George town decided to sink or swim with Rookie T-Formation Quarterback Francis Mattingly last week. and he swan. With the same decision last night, Margarita sank. George town never could open up because on offense it always was deep In it’s own territory. Not until Bob Barry took over for Mattingly did the Hoyas score with a Barry to-Lou Surman pass counting after Barry-to-Ogust Forniciari passes set it up. Tatum Lauds Hoya Ends. Tatum paid particular tribute to Georgetown’s ends, Bob Mop pinger and Joe Palotta. He said they were as fine a pair of ends as he’s played against. In retrospect Georgetown gam bled with everything last week with a big bid for a surprise tri- umph. It made the grade. II was too much to expect for Mar garita, the new coach, to have the boys up for two straight games particularly when it must have been obvious to him that he was overmatched in the second. For the records: For Maryland Bob Roulette scored from the j after taking the ball 81 yards in four plays; Fox took touchdown passes from Lavine and Tucker from 13 and Is yards; Idzik scored from the l and Tucker from the ! on a quarterback sneak after Elmer Wingate and Rowden set up the score on pass interceptions. Bob Dean kicked three extra points out OF six.
