Early Touchdown Enables Brown to Beat Colgate, Z to 0 Upstate Team Threatens in Second Period, but Sur renders Ball on Downs PROVIDENCE, Nov. 19.-Brown won from Colgate here this afternoon,7 to 0 in a stubbornly fought game. The Brunonians scored in the first period with driving offensive which carried the ball from her 37-yard line over the goal line. Colgate was dangerous only once, in the second period, when the ball reached Browns 17-yard line, where it was sur rendered on downs. The New Workers played brilliantly in the second half, checking Brown on downs when the team had reached the 15-yard line, an intercepted forward pass shutting off a Brown score. Colgate outrushed Brown in the final quarter, but succeeded only in getting as far as Browns 30-yard line. Brown showed the clever defence it exhibited in the Harvard game at all times, al though Colgate was more successful in checking its drive at critical periods. The line-rn:
