Two games. Thirty-four tackles. Ethan Wesloski has made himself hard to miss in the middle of Oklahoma State’s defense.
Wesloski graduated from McKinney Boyd High School in McKinney, Texas, and played at North Texas before arriving in Stillwater. Against UCF on October 10, he finished with eight solo stops and nine assists in a 42–28 win. He had made 17 tackles in his previous game, too, at West Virginia on September 26.
The useful detail is what the tackles prevented. Oklahoma State says four of his stops against UCF came short of the first-down line on third down. The performance brought his third Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week award of the season. McKinney’s linebacker is making opponents earn the next set of downs.
