Murrieta Valley’s Bear Bachmeier: 329 through the air, 109 on the ground

Bear Bachmeier gave Murrieta Valley fans two stat lines to talk about Friday night: 329 yards passing and 109 rushing. The BYU quarterback completed 22 of 30 passes, threw two touchdowns and helped the eighth-ranked Cougars beat Iowa State 24–10 in Provo on October 9. Official Iowa State box score BYU game recap

BYU says Bachmeier is its first quarterback since Taysom Hill to reach 300 passing yards and 100 rushing yards in the same game. One of his touchdown throws found Legend Glasker, who finished the scoring play in the third quarter. BYU game recap Official Iowa State box score

Before Provo, Bachmeier played for George Wilson at Murrieta Valley High School in Murrieta, California. That is also the high school listed in Utah Tech running back Ace Chatman’s official biography. Bear Bachmeier’s BYU bio Ace Chatman’s Utah Tech bio

If you watched our Ace Chatman hometown story, here is another college player from the same school to follow. Their biographies list different hometowns—Murrieta for Bachmeier and Lake Elsinore for Chatman—but the Murrieta Valley connection is shared. Bear Bachmeier’s BYU bio Ace Chatman’s Utah Tech bio

Next for Bachmeier and BYU: Notre Dame in Provo on October 17. For Murrieta Valley followers, the next chapter already has a date. BYU game recap
