COLBY ELEVEN LOSES TO HARVARD, 10 TO 0 Maine Collegians Are Beaten by Grim son Warriors in First Gridiron Game of Season. Cambridge, Mass, Sept. a-Harvard defeated Colby by a small score of 10 to 0, in the first game of the season today. The brilliancy of the crimson backs was not matched by the line players, and the individual work of Cawley, the Colby back, gained enough ground to keep the Maine team in the running all afternoon. Harvard had a scare thrown into its camp when the first line ofrense was able to score only three points on a field goal during the first half. Robinsons’ drop-kick from the 27-yard line on an easy chance gained the score. Coach Leary threw his reserves into action at the opening OF the second half. and the end runs of Casey, abetted by Horween, brought the ball on a straight line from Harvards 0-yard line to the Colby goal. Casey scored the touch down. Murray the substitute quarter back, was the only one OF the four tried who got good coordination from back field and line, the Harvard line showed weak spots that Leary must strengthen before his big games.
