DARTMOUTH ELEVEN oVERWHELMs SYRACUSE. Powerful Green Team Rolled Up Big Score, 40 to O. A versatile Dartmouth eleven with bull-li1e rusles, sweeping end runs and accurate passes iii it’s repertoire of attack overwhelmed a heavier team from Syracuse university Saturday at Boston, 40 to 0. The game was played on d temporary gridiron laid out on Benway park. Man for man, the New Hampshire eleven eXcelled its opponents, took ad- vantage of nearly every one of the fre- quent fumbles by Syracuse, and used the forward pass successfully. while Syracuse could not make it’s open game work The feature of the first period was d remarkable run of 40 yards by Ghee after receiving a Syracuse punt. It looked as though the little Dartmouth quarterback had been downed when he was seen emerging from the Syracuse players and bearing down toward the Syracuse goal. From this point on Dartmouth show ed her powerful line breaking qualities, taking the ball over the line by straight bucks. 4 lateral pass play which went wrong paved the way for Dartmoutfl’s S second score. The ball was fumbled by the receiving back, O’Conneil. and was recovered by Winship 15 yards down toward the Syracuse goal. Dart mouth at this point showed the re- sourcefuiness of her offense and varied tfe play, using straight plunges and endurance The second touchdown was made by Curtis circling far around the Syracuse right end and crossing the line. .DARTMOUTH’S ATTACK DEFEATS SYRACUSE Big Green Eleven Shows Fierce Driving Power and Trims New York Staters, 40 to. o. Boston, Nov. 2L-The fierce driving tactics Of Dartmouth’s eleven resulted today in the defeat Of Syracuse by the extremely one-sided score of 40 to 0. The losers outweighed the Green, but were unable to develop a defense which would stop Whitney and Ghee. A brilliant run by Ghee In the first period started a march down the field, which ended only when Whitney crossed the goal In the second period Curtis was sent over tackle three times, the net result being another touchdown. He then kicked goal The feature play Of the game came in the second period-a remarkable forward pass from Ghee to Winship, which placed the ball on the Syracuse 5-yard mark Here for the first time Syracuse displayed the strong defense with which it has been credited holding for downs Curtis again assumed the shatterinRram role in the third period and smashed through for the third score. The fourth resulted from 25-yard pass to Perry and the fifth, in the last quarter, from fake end runs To make the defeat more decisive Dartmouth in the last few minutes ran back a punt, uncorl1ed another forward pass and scored again. The work. of Ghee was wonderful, especially in the running back Of punts, while the Dart mouth backs seldom failed to gain from 10 to 20 yards. The lineup:
