That Georgetown will defeat Carolina A. and NJ. on Thursday and ten days later will give the Carlisle Indians a great battle with a good chance Of VIC tory is the opinion expressed today by those In charge Of the football team on the Hilltop Complete confidence in the ability of the eleven Is manifested on all sides, and those who have followed the rather mediocre work OF the team UP to yesterday were satisfied with the development shown. Teamwork which successfully coped with the Yale style of play used by Jim Reiliy’s Washington and Lee team yesterday. combined with q steady drive and perfect footwork by the George town backfield on the offense, rolled UP = % to o victory over the team from Lexington, Visitors Suffered. Washington and Lee suffered In COM parlson with the Georgetown eleven, + and while the Lexington team showed great strength at times the players lacked the condition necessary to be able to stop the onslaughts Of the Blue and Gray For Georgetown It was a complete reversal of the form shown In the other games and warrants the prediction that the team will come through on Thursday and will show the Indians few things on the 18th. With the exception Of one or two Of the second string men. who were slow on the attack yesterday. all of the Georgetown men did exceptionally WELL The faults which were apparent in the games against Randolph Macon and Mt. 81 Mary’a have haan illuminated and with any sort OF football weather the Georgetown team can be expected to make a great showing this season. In the first two periods yesterday Georgetown showed combined attack and a defense which completely bsffed their opponents. Costello got in several great broken.field runs, while Dunn and Murray hammered the line with great success. With the ball on the 4-yard line, Georgetown showed It’s defensive toppling back the line-plungers. and aid ing materially In holding the Washing ton and Lee team and forcing try for a dropkick, which failed.
