Meanwhile the red men were baked in their efforts to cross Nebraska goal and suffered a complete shutOut, not once getting nearer to a touchdown than the thirty-five yard line. The summary of the distances gained by the two teams, which shows that the Cornhuskers advanced the ball 395 yards and the Indians only fifty tells briefly, but eff fectual1y, the tale of HaSkeIPS defeat. Booths men displayed a brilliant inn proVenent in form over their play of week ago against Denver university. The line held up firmly against the ruShes of the. Indian backs and only coveted five yards in three downs On the other hand. Nebraska’s offense moved with the crushing force of we’ll oiled machine, the back pIoughing around or through the Haskell line in irresistible fashion. The performance of Eager, Booths lilliputian left half, who weighs only 135 pounds. was of exceptional briliance, his teammates pushing and pulling him forward for gains, averaging from five to fifteen yards on his almost every effort to carry the ball. Once, how ever, he broke away for so yards run in returning a kickoff and started a Sc rieS of ruSheS which did not end until the Cornhuskers had plunged across the Indian goal for the third touchdown. Fallas slightly outpunted Benedict. but Bender and Benedict were more successful in running back with the ball, SO that the exchange was gen orally in Nebraska’S favor. The In dian ends, however, ran close race with their opponents on the Nebraska eleven, and some brilliant tackling was witnessed. The game was marked by sharp snappy football on both sides, and the victory went to the pale faces only as result of their superior tao tics. Inside the % yard line the Corn huskers called their favorite mass ON the tackles into play and the Indians seemed poweriess to solve it. The beginning OF play was delayed for an hour by dispute over the Sc lection of officials, Booth finally acceding to Haskelfs demands.
