VALE OPENS SEASON l BY MAULlNG TRINITY NEW HAVEN, Sept. 27.-Yale opened her football season this afternoon at the Yale field by slashing old victory over Trinity. Yale pushed Trinity’s eleven around entirely at her own will, and finally called the game with a score of 40 to 0. The Trinity team proved miserably weak. and did not even furnish the practice which the varsity men are In the habit Of receiving from the Blues own college line. The visitors proved to be in bad physical condition. and in the second half the play was delayed exceedingly because half of the Trinity team was compelled to lie down to recuperate. The game was one that failed to show up the Yale material for this season The field was muddy and slippery. Yale’s big score may be attributed to inexperience OF the Trinity team, and the excellence of ELS play II was the desire of the coaches to give every man who had proved to be anything at all during the past two weeks trial. ana consequently Holt was the only one of the Yale veterans who played through the entire game. Less than three minutes suficed for Yale to make her first score. From that time on twenty-five and thirty-yard runs were regular feature.
