Penn State Linemen Throttle Syracuse In 32-fo-13 Victory STATE COLLEGE, Pa, Nov. 10.-A big Penn State line starred on both offense and defense today as 1t throttled Syracuse on the ground and In the air, and opened holes which enabled State backs to grind out 311 yards and a 32-to-13 victory before $4,000. The State offensive was its most impressive of the season and made the Nittany Lions fourth triumph of the season against three de-. feats much easier than had been expected. Even the usually DOR mant State aerial attack clicked for 131 yards on seven compile tions in II attempts. And just to add insult to in jury. Coach Rip Engle’s club--still smarting from last weeks 28-to-0 shutout by Purdue – scored a touchdown on a fake field-goal play. Syracuse never had chance against the hard rushing State line that played in the losers backfield all afternoon. Avetus Stone, star Syracuse passer. could net only Is yards as he completed four in 81 heaves. Stone was on his back almost all day. Syracuse provided two of the days big thrills. Haskins raced SO yards in the final period on one of the few occasions the State linemen were trapped. But Syracuse couldn’t put the ball over. Early in the first period, Stone tossed a 66-yard aerial that trickled through the fingers of End Joe Szombathy. who was in the clear.
