  Purdue FumbIes Help Wisconsin Win, 31–⁠7, Before 10000 Fans LAFAYETTE, Ind, Oct. 90 Wisconsin put together foui ltouchdowns and two safeties tt whip tumble harraSSed Purdue today. 31–⁠7. The hard-charging Wisconsin offensive was pointed up by John Coatta’s passing. The veteran quarterback tossed for two touch downs and threw another long one to set up a third. A homecoming crowd of 10000 was subdued before halftime by four Wisconsin recoveries of Purdue fumbles. Purdue survived the first three. but the fourth started a 16-point Wisconsin splurge in the second quarter. The two Purdue safeties came on blocked punt and Dale Sam uels’ tumble. Purdue took one bit out Of Wis consin’s lead in the third period Coatta, smacked by James Whit mer. fumbled on the Wisconsin 2 Two plays later. Don Kasperan plunged over from the l. Wisconsin wound it up with two last-period touchdowns.
