Substitution Error IMoyHoveP Prevented Kansas State Victory MANHATTAN, Kans., Oct. g. Kansas State had only 10 men on the field when its kick for the winning point was blocked Saturday in the Nebraska game, Coach Bill Meek disclosed today. The substitution error probably cost K-State its first Big Seven victory since 1949 and its first triumph over Nebraska since 1912. Also, the kick followed K-State’s first touchdown of this season. BY mistake. two Kansas State backs left the field when Hi Faubion went in to hold the ball for Lane Browns attempt to kick the extra point. Meek. a former as sistant at the University of Mary land, explained. That vacancy in the backf1eld left a clear path for Nebraska’s end, Dick Coll, to dash in and block the kick. The game ended in a 6–6 tie.
