  Hoyos Lose to Fordhom, 74–⁠73, As Sub Misses Extrd-Point Try NEW YORK, Nov. 11-With Georgetown’s place-kicking specialist sitting on the bench with an injured leg, the Hoyas dropped a 14–⁠13 thriller to Fordham here this afternoon. While the crowd of 1880 fans, scattered around the confines of &le Polo Grounds. held its col lective breath, Mike Cara, Dick Haesler’s substitute on place kick ing, booted the ball to the right of the crossbar and Fordhaln had its fifth victory in six starts this season. Carra’s attempted conversion which would have given the Hoyas a tie with the 14-point favored Rams-followed a 90-yard touchdown drive in the late min utes of the game. Hurt Leg in Practice. Haesler, a native of Montclair, N. j., injured his leg in practice at Georgetown Thursday. In six games this season, the husky, 6-foot, pinch back had kicked 20 points over the croosbar in 81 tries. At that, the Hoyas, losers in six of their seven games, made things interesting in this, the 23rd renewal of a rivalry that dates back to 1890.
