  MISSOURI TIGERS LOSE Simpson Iowa College Defeats Foot ball Eleven by Score of 10 to o. Columbia, Mo-, Oct. 1.-THE best game of football seen on Rolla field for many a day was played Friday afternoon between the Simpson college. Iowa, team and the Tigers. The visitors won, 10 to 0. The teams were about matched as to weight, the Iowa boys having a slight advantage in the line. This won them the game. In the first half it looked like Missouri, but the Iowans played ball like their return home depended upon it. The Tigers were ut-genera1ed and out-played, but they can lay no claim to being out weighed The men just simply lacked strength and generalship. In the first half Missouri had the sphere within three yards of the Simpsonites’ goal. but misplay lost the ground and the Tigers were never near enough to their opponents goal again to endanger it But the game was fiercely contested, and when the Tigers had the ball they usually gained. But their defensive work was ragged. There seemed to be lack of team work. and when the Iowans would form their ‘backed-up’‘ formation it was simply irresistible.
