Michigan Hard Pressed to Beat Illinois 1920 Ann Arbor, Mich, Oct.30-(AP -Unbeaten Michigan stayed on the victory trail today by edging a stubborn and courageous Illinois football team % to 20. But the Wolverines had an assist from the breaks in chalkmg up their goth consecutive win. A Homecoming sellout crowd of 1888 saw Lady Luck hand out two favors that helped win the ball game. The first came in the form of an offside penalty that multi fled Dixie Eddleman’s 94-yard dash into the Michigan end zone on the second half kickoff play while the scoreboard read TT. Moments later, officials ruled Chuck. Ortmann’s pass to Dick Rifenburg complete for interference on the Illini one-foot line when Rifenburg dropped the ball as he was hit by three IL linois defensemen. 1t took Michigan two plays to cash in on that one.
