Michigan State Bumps Temple Eleven, 14–6 PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 15.-Horace Smith, 176-pound Negro sophomore halfback, led Michigan State to a 14–6 victory over Temple today, scoring twice on plays of 81 and u yards. The game, played in steady drizzle, reached its climax in the fourth period. State took a 14–0 lead on the second and longest of Smiths brilliant runs and Temple came back with pass that netted 81 yards AND set up a touchdown. State then drove all the way from it’s 81 to the Temple 8, where Temple held and came back with fakes and passes that carried the ball to the Middle Westerners’ II as the game ended.
