  California. surprise team Of the year, dubbed Washington State 81 to 6 for the Bears fifth consecutive win. Highlight of the game was an 83-yard touchdown run by end John Cunningham of California, who raced down the sidelines after grabbing a blocked pass. UCLA, defending Coast cham pion, scored almost at will in defeating Stanford 80 to 6. The Uclans, beaten only by North western, still have their eyes on the Rose Bowl.
