  South CuroIiinu Is Victor Over Furmun, 26 to 8 COLUMBIA, S. c., Oct. 11.-Fleetfooted Ernie Lawhorn and the droopy Atwell to Red Wilson pass combination scored two touchdowns apiece here today to give the Uni versity of South Carolina a 1858 Southern Conference football VIC tory over Furman. A crowd of 1880 homecoming fans saw the ragged contest. The Gamecocks overcame an early two point Furman lead and marched relentlessly over the hapless Hurricane, whose offense never got going.
