NEW YORK, Oct. 12-B- Football fanatics, just catching their breath today after Saturdays thrilling college gridiron skirmishes which produced more than the usual share of upsets, lopsided scores and an important scoreless deadlock, were bemoaning the fate that keeps the powerful Notre Dame and Michigan elevens from clashing head on this year. The Ramblers of Notre Dame did not have such ar easy time of it as did Michigan, although they scored a 22–7 triumph over a good Purdue team for their second straight win. In fact, the Irish were outrushed and out fought by the battling Boiler makers and won mainly because of quarterback Johnny Lujack’s passing w%izardry.
