Cornell Given Big Scare, But Beats Colgate, 27.18 HAMILTON, N. Y, Oct. 11.-Cornell’s veteran gridders generated too much power today for gallant gang of Colgate Red Raiders who gave them scare in the last quarter of an uproarous struggle before yielding, 27–18. A record 1900 Homecoming Day fans saw the Raiders hold Cornell to one touchdown and twice stop the Big Red cold within inches OF pay dirt in the first half. But when Colgate stepped up the power in the last two periods, Cornell produced more. The James gang from Ithaca met every challenge after the loosely played first half in which both teams fumbled and misfired in the air.
