5 P-I-G-S-K-IN ; REVIEW The weatherman proved an able ally for the greater part of the foot ball games over the state, during the week end. A little on the frosty side late Saturday evening, the enthusiasm of the football fans did fairly good job of counteracting the increasing GOODNESS Of the atmosphere. Wake Forest 10; Clemson College Z Power deception and the breaks paid off for Wake Forest as the Deamon Deacons, on their own field, swept over a luck-less Clemson COL lege, 10 to z in Southern conference game. Most Of the second half was played in rain so heavy that at times it was hard to distinguish indenty Of the players and both teams resorted to line plays and puntlng. Catawba College as; Wofford Col. o. A heavy, pwoerful and experienced tribe of Catawba Indians overWhelmed the hapless Wofford Terriers 46-o. The Wofford boys were outclassed IN everything except competitive spirit which they maintained despite the fact that it was their third straight loss this season. Duke University FL; Navy 6. Duke combined tightening speed raw power and opportunlsm tc fashion a 21-O victory over an inept NAVY team, sustaining Coach Wallace Wade’s record of never having a Wade-coached team to lose three straight games. The game was the first Duke victory over Navy since 1880 and the first Duke triumph OF the 1916 season. n. C. State College Is; Davidson o. North Carolina States Wolfpack, held to only one touchdown in the first three quarters by the young sters of Davidson, exploded in the final period to win themselves a ball game $500 in a Southern conference game Saturday night. State the dark horse of the conference still remains in the thinning ranks OF the undefeated, united. Other scores of interest include: Vanderbilt 20-Florida 0. Notre Dame 49-Purdue 6. u. N.
