The Crimson, gaining its first major victory, was held Scoreless in the first half, although surging deep into Bruin territory. But in the third period the Grim sons Charley Spreyer spanked a 63yard march to the Brown goal line, launched after Loren MacKinney halted a Bruin thrust with vital pass interceptiOn. Late in the fourth period Brown, pushed back to its 13 by Spreyer punt. tried a desperate gamble. 1t backfired when Burgy AyreS intercepted an Ernie Savignano pass. Spreyer and Fran Lee alternated to lug the ball to the 8 and Lee romped over untouched on naked reverse. Browns only threat came after the second Harvard touchdown with less than two minutes to play. John OLeary, Brown right halfback, took the subsequent kickoff on his own 4-yard line, headed UPHELD and then cut to his right to the sideline. OLeary fitted past two would be tacklers, just grazed the sideline at midfeld and finally, apparently in the clear, was hauled down from behind on the Harvard 81.
