S P Q R T S Only Grain And Ancient Jinx Stand In Way Of Texas Aggies favorite over Texas. Its power and cunning has grown by the weekend. But no longer than w seasons ago the Aggies marched into Austin doped to manhandle a Texas team that had lost eight straight games. And what happened? Texas reared and plunged, grabbed the ancient jinX by the hand and stifled the superior Cadet team, 7–6, for the seasons most stunning up set. 1t shouldn’t happen again. Form laughs at its possibility. The cold Aggie machine that has passed and plunged for 1925 yards behind Jarrin’ John Kirnbrough, magnificent All-America fullback, and rolled up 10 points to eight stricken victims 81, is the type team to splatter tradition, jinxes and, most important, football teams. Only Saturday the Aggies attained the boiling point in a slashing, 25–0 triumph over a Rice team that had lost only n game. Now, as if tailored to close out their grand surge of two seasons they come up to their most ancient enemy-Texas. And the bow-legged boy? He is Cowboy Jack Grain, n of footballs most feared runners who needs only the hint Of an opening to run touch downs from any spot on the field.
