Both Catholic College contestants have swept to seven straight triumphs by lopsided margins. Bos- ton College. the nations highest scoring team with 26l points, has a slightly more. impressive record But Georgetown, riding the crest of 8 23-game win streak, has shown plenty of power in piling up 247 points to 9 for its opposition. The Eagles and Georgetown will match two of the heaviest lines in the country but their classy backs and versatile attacks may minimize the accent on power. Both teams defeated Temple, only common op- ponent on their schedules, by two touchdowns though B. c. yielded 20 ot itS 27 points to the owls. Brown Harvard Second on the list of New Eng land attractions will be the meeting of once beaten Brown and Harvard at Cambridge. Brown, boasting a record of six wins against its early season setback by Colgate, will be only a slight favorite despite the fact that Harvard has failed to win a major conflict. The Crimson, however, has fought to three ties and dropped another game by a single point Powerhouse Cornell, the east other leader, travels to Hanover, N. H., to face Dartmouth’s down. trodden Indians. In other games involving this areas teams, fading Holy Cross entertains Temple at Worcester and hapless Yale journeys to Princeton, N. J., to oppose the Tigers. In final tuneups for their crucial collision, Boston College shutout stubborn Boston University, 2l-o, Saturday while Georgetown blasted Maryland, 4l-0. Held scoreless in the first period for the first time this season, the Eagles shook their lethargy to count twice in the second quarter on a 35-yard dash with an intercepted pass and a short buck climaXing a 60-yard march. The final tally came on a 14-yard fourth down pass in the final period The low-charging terrier forward wall, contesting every inch, took the ball from the Eagles nine times inside the B. U. 30. Bad Decision Underdog Harvard fought potent Pennsylvania to a 10-l0 tie at Phil adelphia and might have won but for a questionable decision in the third period. With fourth down and a yard to go on the Penn 2, Henry Wander ED was rushed in and boot ed a placement that tied the score but Pennsylvania was offside on the play. Harvard refused the pen- alty which would have given it a first down on the 2 and settled for the equalizing field goal. It was learned that Referee Red Friesell failed to consult Harvard’s acting Capt. Bill Brown on the of1side. The crimson players would not tell who made their decision. Cornell, expected to score at will against Yale, encountered stern op- position from the Ellis but pulled out a 2l-0 win to remain unde- feated. Holy Cross, in the midst of its poorest season in a decade, was swamped 34–7 by Mississippi in an intersectional game at Worcester, It was the crusaders worst beating since 1917. Browns speedy backs combined power and finesse to whip Army, l3–9 at West Point. Dartmouth fought Princeton on even terms but finally fell. l4–9, on late fourth-period pass by Dave Allerdice that was carried to the pig Greens l.
