Biq Cornell 5mothers Penn State Under 47-to-0 Score Disheurtens Foe Early As Ii Receivers Two FumbIes for 1uIIies ITHACA, N. Y, Oct 21.-Cornell’s big team, amazingly rich in reserves, took a giant stride toward the East ern football championship today as it administered a brutal beating to Penn State, Al to 0, on Schoellkopf Field. Entering the contest only a slight favorite, the Big Red poured on the power to bury the Nittany Lions under seven touchdowns, at least one in each period, and outclassed their adversaries every minute of the muddy way. Cornell Gets Jump Quickly. Probably the score would have been closer if Cornell had not taken advantage of a strong wind and a couple of remarkable breaks to shove across two touchdowns in the first minutes of play. These appeared to take all the heart out Of the visitors. Steve Rollins was the unfortunate victim both times. The game barely was under way, when the Penn State quarterback fumbled as he was hit and the ball bounced into the arms of Hal Mccullough, who ran it Is yards for score. Only three plays later it happened again. This time the leather flew to Ken Brown, who cut to the side line and behind fine interference scampered As yards over the goal line. That completely chilled the Penn Staters. From there on, it was Nellie close the gate. Snavely Employs Reserves. Mccullough scored again on a 10 yard reverse before the first period closed. Then Snavely began sending in his reserves-youngsters with names like Bufalino, Schmuck, Landsberg, Murphy and Borhmanand through the remaining three quarters they ran the Lions ragged. Pos.
