DeIIeK 1Ddt b4lUulU nave WUn by two OF three touchdowns IN stead of one. Minnesota likewise was q hot choice over Northwestern. The re. suit, one Of the classics of the year. Northwestern led to 6 in the sec ond period, trailed at 9 to Z in the third, then led again at IA to 9. Then the Gophers ran up II points in the final quarter, proving them selves to be- all the doctor ordered. The Army Harvard tie at 20 to 20 was another heartbreaker, Harvard leading y to 0 at half time. then falling behind at 20 to i3 on eagles inspire, running and finally tying the score with. a long pass. in the last minute of play. Yale also had to come from beirind to Beat Brown. conqueror of Princeton. So did the Navy to beat Duke a distinct sur prise. Likewise Illinois to tie Iowa, the short-ender. and Georgia to beat North Carolina, the Crackers scoring twice in the last period. Bucknell won in the final period, too, beating Lafayette. s. to 5, for one of the days few, SURPRISES. Another was Cornelrs 18 to victory over Princeton, the winning touchdown coming on a pass play in the second period. Somebody ran 80 yards Against Nillanova on the opening play but the ‘‘Villains” raj. lied to beat Catholic University. As for Carnegie Tech, It earned no more than its score less tie with W.. and j.. In spite OF karcis’ disallowed touchdown in the second period. Ohio State earned everything II got from Michigan, which was 7 to 0 victory and one could say no less for Pittsburgh against Nebraska. The Huskers twice were down on the 5-yard line early In the racket, but when Pitt got going in the second period, 1t forgot to stop. Sloan was largely responsi. BILE for Nebraska’s s late score. Florida was down” all the way to Georgia Tech while Tennessee got the only touchdown Of the Alabama game by marching &S yards in the second period. Purdue gave further evidence of its power against De Pauw and Indiana again displayed a lack of 1t In losing to Colgate. Something of a surprise was occasioned when Chicago scored only 10 points on Ripon and the Aggies beat Kansas. There was none in connection with Stanford’s easy win from oregon State ana U. S. C.’s gallop with Occidental Nor was Texas Christians decision over the Aggies exceptional. In fact, the day was so normal 1t was extraordinary.
