PENN WINS, 14-Q, OVER PENN STATE ScuIl Dashes 70 Yards to Score-Murphy and Smith Also Star. BY the Associated Press. PHILADELPHIA, october 20.-A Toyard run by Capt. Paul Scull after intercepting a forward pass and a series of line bucks by Murphy and Rosenbloom gave the University of Pcnnsylvania two touchdowns and a 14-to-O victory over Pennsylvania State College today. The first score came after the first 10 minutes of play. Penalties against State College brought the ball to her own 25-yard line in Penn’S possession From that point Murphy and Rosenbloom battered away at fighting State line for short but consistent gains. 1t was Murphy, 167-pound back, Penn chief thrust throughout the contest who finally plunged through center 1ol 6 yards and touchdown. The most sensational play OF the game came in the second quarter Capt Scull intercepted pass from Miller star back of the State eleven, and rae ing through a broken field for 10 yards scored the second and last touchdown of the day. 1t was the longest run OF the season on Franklin Field. Tries for point by Scull failed on both occasions, but offside by the State team gave Penn the extra 2 points Less spectacular than the flashing backs, but doing great work, was John H. Smith, Penn tackle. He was hard rock on defense and mule team on the offense.
