.Hynoski Passes Give Penn Victory Over Penn State, 1877 PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 3.-Walt Hynoski, equally adept on the ground and in the air, tossed pair of touchdown passes to Gary Scott today to give the University of Pennsylvania a 1877 victory over Pen State before $1,000. The two scoring plays enabled the unbeaten Quakers to present retiring coach George Munger with the departing gift he wanted most-hiS first victory over the intrastate rival in six tries. Hynoski fired the 25-yard win ming pass to Halfback Scott in the the end zone in the final period after Penn had come from behind in the second quarter. Penn’s defense stiffened after this second Quaker touchdown and kept Penn State bottled up in its own territory for most of the time. However, Tony Radios got the Nittany Lion clicking in the final two minutes after End Jim Gar rity recovered a Penn tumble in the air at the State goal line. The Nittany Lions were trying for the tying touchdown from the 38-yard line when the game ended. Radios tossed a 3O-yard touch down pass to Garrity late in the first quarter to give Penn State first blood. Two minutes later Hynoski arched 29-yard aerial to Scott who crossed the goal line untouched. A perfect block by End Jim Castle on the State 10 permitted Scott to score.
