Here and There in Sport World. Los ANGELES, Nov. ga. With the regular football season at an end, interest today centered in selection of a team to represent the west in the New Years Day tournament of roses classic st Pasadena. There is one more game on the local schedule, the University of Southern California–SyraeAse CON test here on December 6. This is the first of the intersectional clash es and apart from the Trojan S reg ular season, but it may be that rose tournament officials will CON slider it advisable to wait two weeks before picking their western team. U. S. C. turned back Idaho in convincing fashion Saturday, 13 to 0. Coach Elmer Henderson, squad showed more punch and power than at any time this year. On the strength of that showing, U. S. c. is right now one of the most dan gerous teams on the coast. Although the heat undoubtedly made the Vandals play below their usual form, the Trojans showed a tearing, smashing offanse that combined versatility with brilfiance of execution. Another coast team, Stanford, is still very much in the running for the New Years assignment. Rising to heights of power in holding California, 1920, Stanford has a claim that probably will get con siderable attention. California S game against Pennsylvania automatically puts them out of consideration.
