R0CKNES EASILY TRIUMPH OVER NEBRASKA, A-6 Notre Dame Reeks Awful Revenge On Corn huskers SOJTHBEND, Ind, Nov. 15.-The four horsemen of Notre Dame, and their teammates ran rough shod over Nebraska in their annual game on Cartier Field here today, burying the Corn Huskers under q 34 to 6 score and averaging the victories Nebraska scored over Coach Rockne’s warriors in 1923 and 1922. The defeat was the worst drubbing a Nebraska eleven ever received from Notre Dame in the ten years of foot ball relations between the two univcr. sities. The contest was witnessed by capacity crowd of 26,0OO spectators, who damned every available inch of standing room. The famous Notre Dame back field, Crowley, Miller, Layden, and Stuhld- erher, making up the quartette of cayalrymen, swung into action late in the first period just before Nebraska crashed over with touchdown and, carrying the fight to the Nebraska ter ritory, slashed off the line for big gains and ran around the ends as they pleased, in addition to revealing q sen sational forward passing attack. Coach Rockne followed his practice of starting team of shock troops com posed of second string players. but as quickly as Nebraska pounded the ball dangerously close to Notre Dame’s goal, Rockne gave the signal for eleven new players to take the field Layden, Crowley, Miller and Stuhldreher yanked off their sweaters and raced into the game behind complete new line. From then on the contest was one sided, and Nebraska, although fighting dog gedly, was unable to match speed with the perfect Notre Dame machine. f,otre Dame, which crushed the Army, Princeton, Georgia Tech. and Wisconsin, probably will go through the season undefeated. with claims to the football honors of the nation, as a result of it’s remarkable record. Notre Dame closes its season with Carnegie Tech on Thanksgiving Day, meeting Northwestern at Chicago next Satur- day. The Purple eleven is not expected to furnish much opposition for the great Notre Dame machine. The Lineup:
