GEORGIA BEATS TENNESSEE, 33-O Bulldogs Have Easy Time In Game With Vols ATHENS, Ga. Nov. 1.-Scorins in every period in spite of the use of many substitutes, the University of Georgia celebrated Home Coming Day here this afternoon by defeating the Univer- sity of Tennessee 33 to 0. The Volun- tees were unable to cope with the free attacks of the Bulldogs, the home team growing better as the game progressed. The winners scored two touchdowns Ill the final period. The Gorgians started the game with lineup composed largely of reserves but sent the first line outfit into the game at the beginning of the second period. The second string men, however, did as we’ll as their most favored brethren, each lineup scoring touchdown i’ll the first half. Roland plunged over for the first touchdown early ill the opening period after snappy running by the other backs had advanced the ball tc n. ‘I.- unteers’ three yard line. Sherlock Runs The second touchdown was made af- ter 15-yard run by Sherlock, who broke through the line to score. In scoring the third period counter, Nelson made a run of 13 yards, being forced out of bounds on the one yard line. He made the touchdown on the nest play. Pounding at the line with a force that could not be stopped gave the Bulldogs a touchdown early in the final period and the last was negotiated through q brilliant % yard run by Hatcher. The winners were in possession of the ball throughout most of the game and Georgia’s defense was too good for Tennessee’s offensive measures. The game was witnessed by a great crowd many of those in attendance be- ing alumni of Georgia. A score of former football stars of the Red and Black in other days were on hand. v
