New York, Dec. 1.--Colgate’s pom derous football team rode roughshod over the hapless Columbia eleven at South Field yesterday, crushed the Blue and White defense with aston ishing ease for eight touchdowns and capped 1t all with two field goals in m overwhelming 5s to 6 victory. It was distressing finale to season of disappointment for the Blue and White, trying Thanksgiving day for the thousands of Columbia rooters who filled the. stands. And yet they had something to be thankful for, for had not the Maroon shown mercy, called out many of its regulars in the flnal period and slackened its offensive considerably, the score might have been still higher. Col rate seemed content after it had paaed the total of 56 that Cornell scored against Columbia a few weeks ago.

Downs Quaker Team; Cornhuskers Win Tilt With NOfre Dame Crowd of $4,000 Sees Philly, Team Defeated; Colgate Wallops Columbia and Pitt Beats Penn State Philadelphia. Nov. 30.-fBy The As ISOLATED Press.)-Gil Dobie’s powerful eleven from Cornell defeated the Uni yersity of Pennsylvania Thursday, 8 to o, on straight football, and remains the only big team in the east which has not been beaten for two years. 1t is the first game in which Pennsylvania has failed to score fhis season. The last game Cornell lost was to Penn sylvania, on Thanksgiving day, two years ago. A placement goal by Hanson in the first period and a touchdown by Cassidy in the third made up the total OF Cornells efforts that counted but give no indication of the offensive and the complete superiority of the Red team The highly touted defensive of Penn sylyania was hopeless against the rushes of Captain Kaw, Pfann, Ramsey and Cassidy, while its offensive was weak and failed TO uncover anything new.
