IOWA CONQUERS YALE BY 6 TO 0 Chicago, Oct. 16.-Baek from their six to nothing triumph over Yale, Iowa’s conquering heroes are the pride of the big ten, the idols of the middle west and the principal foe of five football teams Of the western conference in the championship race, which reaches high speed next SatuTday. Defeat of the team which humbled Yale is the foremost OBJ jective Of Iowa’s five conference opponents-Il Illinois, Purdue, Min nesota, Ohio State and North western. In the big ten schedule arrange ment this fall, three of the teams regarded as among the most for midable contenders for the conference championship do not meet the Hawkeyes. They are Chicago Wisconsin and Michigan. Indiana also is off the Iowa schedule but the Hoosiers are hardly considcred dangerous enough to threat en- seriously the championship as pirations of others of the big ten. The fact that Iowa does not meet three of the strongest teams in the conference gives a wider range to championship possibilities in the big ten. Another element is the absence of a Chicago game this year. All these facts apparently give more teams a better chance for big ten football honors won by Iowa last fall.
