PENN STATE WINS OVER TECH ELEVEN BY SCORE OF 28TO7 In First Quarter Only Does Golden Tornado Show Winning Form New York October 29.-Penn States stalwart football warriors swept around, through and over the fighting Georgia Tech eleven at the Polo grounds today. The final score Penn State, 2S; Tech 7--shows how markedly the Ntttany Lions out classes the widely heralded Golden Tornado. The feature of the game was a thrilling S5yard run by Killinger, States fleet quarterback, who caught a kickoff on his 15-yard line and never stopped until hs had squirmed through, the Tech team and planted the ball back of the southerners’ goal. Barron and Harlan, the stellar line p1ungers from Dixie, were watched too closely to get started. At the beginning of the game, Tech prom ised great things by ripping States defense to pieces and carrying the ball on a steady march for 66 yards for a touchdown. That was the only time in the game that Tech showed winning form. Killinger’s great run, coming immediately after Tech had scored, seemed to instill the States players with new spirit, and they were never again in danger. Both teams worked the passing game freely, but States sharp losses over the line were more successful than the long throws made by liar Ian and Barron. The game was re- msrkably clean, only four penalties being inflicted. One of these, how ever, called Wilson of Penn State, back to the 30-yard line after he had run through the whole Tech eleven. A crowd of 30.000 witnessed the game. The lineup and score: Penn State t2s) Georgia Tech CD
