Special Despatch to THE NEW York HERALD. CAMBRIDGE, Mass. NOV. l3,-lt was a weak Brown team, the weakest in years, with Harvard to-day on the football field. 1t never had chance, and after the hour of actual play had been consummated. although the Brunonlans the week before had actually outplayed Yale, not withstanding the score, Harvard had tailed three touchdowns and two goals from the field, making the final score read Harvard. q Brown, 0. There were 1000 present 1t was the largest crowd that ever has seen a Brown game in the Stadium and that il was disappointed would be putting il mildly. Only three times did Brown make a first down. 1t was outplayed at every point, and in the closing minutes. with defeat staring it in the face. Brown essayed to find some consolation in scoring. In this it failed sadly. for its for ward passing, which was of the hap hazard variety, awaited it little or moth ing. Harvard used twenty-six men in all. They were reported as the substitutes, but If their play today is any criterion W ~ W Lie &IAHlSOI “ III bt WCAl loA ~ fled to tackle Yale next week Duke SedgewicS, the varsity player of last year, who has been under the weather all season, played a whale of game at left tackle. He lasted through the greater part of the game and was retired when the game was decided. Brunonian Attack Weak. Browns attack. which had played havoc with Yale, was the weakest kind OF thing to-day. This may have been due TO the inability of Ink Williams the colored end, to play more than Ave minutes. The Brown attack had been built around him. but with him gone much of the effectiveness of the assaults into the line and around the end was lost. Harvard first scored when Hamilton drop kicked n goal from the 20 yard line in the first period. In the second quarter Quarterback Johnson scored on a sixteen yard run through Browns middle. He threw off several tacklers, and with that done the remainder of the task was easy. Hamilton scored in the third period and later he again kicked n goal from the 81 yard line. In the closing minutes of the game Brown became desperate. They tossed forward passes with no apparent OBJ Jective. One of these was intercepted by Wharton on Browns so yard line and before he was stopped he had landed the ball on Browns 4 yard line. on three plays Rouillard went over for the third and last touchdown. Only three Brown men played through. They were Cuban. Barrett and Capt. Armstrong. The first named, handicapped by bad knee. was the big man OF the Brown line. He played strong game, but could hardly cope with the task OF stopping three men Harvard sent at him. Only twice did Brown have the ball on Harvar1s side OF the field. Once “A goal from the field was tried by Capt. Armstrong but IL went askew. The other time the Providence eleven was stopped and Armstrong was forced TO yield the ball. The lineup:
