  BROWN BEATS COLGATE IN FIRST REAL TEST Providence, R. l., Oct. l6.-Brown University in it’s first real test onNthe football field this season emerged victorious by the score of IA to o. Colgate, one of Browns biggest opponents this year was the loser. The game was without a doubt the most stubbornly fought battle ever staged on Andrews Field. Colgate rushed the ball to within Browns f0-yard line on no less than six times, but were held for downs every time. On one occasion Brown held on their own foul line.
