Oct 23.--CorneIl crushed Col gate by az to 6 score this afternoon. before a crowd Of 10000 football enthusiasts who yelled themselves hoarse at the spectacular runs of Eddie Kaw and Clyde Mayer. the Cornell halfbacks. and the generally savage attack of the Ithaca back field. The victory was very sweet because only n year ago on the same field the Maroon humbled Cornell by a 81 to 0 score. To have the Ithacans double the points made by Colgate last year and to run up total as large as any Cornell team ever made against the Hamilton outfit sent the Cornell stands into ecstasies and started big student parade and snake dance down the hill. There never was any doubt as to the outcome. Colgate was powerless to stop the hard running attack of the Cornell backs. Her line was outweished and most OF the time outplayed. and her ends wero outclassed by the Ithacans, Munns In particular playing fine game for Cornell The Maroons made three first downs by rushing and executed three for ward passes for a total gain OF perhaps 80 yards. but only once did they throw n scare into the Ithacsns. Colgate SmOtllered BY Cornell; ‘.Reds” Win by AZ to E ITHACA, n. Y, Oct 23-Colgate was outclassed by the Cornell team today IN what was expected to be the first real test for the Ithacans, the powerful, hard hitting Red eleven roll ing up a score of AZ to g. Outweighed about twelve pounds to the man and outplayed in line ends and secondary defense, the Maroon was helpless, except in the second period, when they held Cornell scoreless. The Ithacans scored a touchdown in five minutes and made two more before the whistle blew. They picked up three more in the second half. Ed die Kaw, the sophomore halfback, as slippery and as clever runne. as Cornell has had since Charley Bar rett, played q spectacular game, scoring four touchdowns, reeling off sew ecal twenty five to thirty yard runs and running back Colgate kicks for good gains. Colgate had Cornell anxious once when, on kickoff in the first period, Webster ran through the Ithacans’ ninety yards for touchdown, but chat proved to be merely a flash in the pan. The Maroon made four first downs and gained forty yards on three passes. With memories of last years 81 to 0 victory by Colgate in mind, Cornell celebrated to-day with a snake dance aNd parade. Tho
