BROWN PROVESEASY Harvard Wins, 16–7, Without Spending Any Of Its Strength. Brownonians Make Fourteen First Downs, But Have Many Fumbles. CAMBRIDGE, Mass. November 13.- Harvard today disposed of Brown, Is to Z, without spending any of the strength saved for the rejuvenated Yale team in the big game of the season to be played next Saturday. The Crimson eleven was one of second string men, with single exception. Capt Mahan and two other Harvard players went to New Haven to see the Yale team come to life and the other Crimson regulars idled on the side lines. Brown presented a powerful offense. in which the serpentine runs of Pol lard. a negro. and the lunging advances of Andrews we’re most important. The Brownonians made fourteen first downs. but their attack was arrested time and again by fumbles, in which Pollard also figured prominently. The Harvard team was unable to make progress consistently through the Brown line and was greatly outrushed. but 1t accepted some opportunities that came easily to 1t. After a long forward pass had put Robinson in a position from which he kicked field goal in the first period. subsequent Harvard scores were the result Of Brown Pro lapsss: @ rushes following a tumble by Pollard in this period, and in the second period Rollins grasped a ball which had eacapped Purdy and dashed 81 yards for the Crimson’s second touchdown. Crimson Braces Up. Robinson kicked the goal. Brown urged the ball half the distance Of the field by rushes in the first and second periods. reaching the Crimson 3-yard line, where 1t was held for downs. In the third period similar advance was made. but the Crimson again held hrm at the critical moment Pollard. thrown back for the Anal down. again fumbled the ball. He recovered a punt and ran 1t back 25 yards soon after. however. and Farnum was sent across the Harvard line on forward pass, line plays having failed. The goal was kicked by Andrews.
