  TEXAS DEFEATS SEWANEE BY A SCORE Of 1877 Lone Star State Team Altogether Too Fast for Tennesseans in Hard Battle. IN ALIAS, TEXAS, Oct. 25.-Uni- versity of Texas defeated Sc vance to-day by a score OF IS to in a brilliantly played game before $4,000 spectators. Outweighing Sewanee almost 20 pounds to the man Texas won not on weight but speed. In the first quarter Darrell kicked off to Sewanee’s 20-yard line, Parker gained a yard for Sewanee through the line and on the next play Sc vance lost the ball on a tumble. Tex as gained Is yards around left end and a few yards through the line. Another yard plunge put the ball al most on Sewanee’s goal line and Brown, captain OF Texas, plunged through for the first touchdown in less than three minutes play. Bar rell failed to kick goal, Sewanee made its score by sending BarnweIl through center for the only touchdown Tolley kicked the goal In the second quarter neither side was able to score. Chaplain was Sc verely hurt in this quarter and was removed from the game. This is how Texas made its last score in the third quarter: Sewanee kicked to Texas s-yard line and Darrell returned the kick to midfield Sewanee tried q forward pass and Daniels, fullback for Texas, inter cepted the ball and ran SO yards for touchdown. Darrell kicked the goal. There was no scoring in the las quarter.
