Great Excitement Regarding the Football Game Between Yale and Princeton. LATEST NEWS ABOUT THE TEAMS. The University of Pennsylvania Team Defeats the Wesleyan Eleven in an Exciting Contest. AL J0HNSONS POOR PROSPECTS. Gossip About Local Baseball Afsrs-6ensrl Sporting News Of the Day. ESPECIAL TELEGRAM TO THE p1sPArcH., NEW YORK, November 26.-The greatest football game OF the season will come off tomorrow afternoon at Eastern Park, Brook lyn. The gates will be opened at II o’clock in the morning. Extensive arrangements have been made to care for the crowd, more liberal in fact than at any previous games between these colleges. From the time the referee, “Biilv” Brooks, of Harvard, calls “play,” until the final call of time” there will be a continual cloud of Yale blue and Princeton orange and black hoverIng around the grounds. The Yale contingent will &C. cupy the “bleacheries” on the western and the Princeton students and sympathizers will be on the eastern side. The rival teams are quartered at the St George Hotel, Brooklyn, and are auxiously waiting for the supreme moment to come. 1t is generally thought by the knowing ones that Yale will win the game, but by a very small score. POE WILL BE THERE. The Princeton eleven have about recovered from the in juries inflicted on them by the University of Pennsylvania bruisers and will feel much more confident now that it is an assured fact that their mainstay, Captain Poe, will be back of the line. Princeton men concede that Yale is stronger in the line than they are, but with Holcomb out and Symmes playing against Lewis it is an even question as TO which eleven is really the stronger. The giants of the teams. Heffelfnger and Riggs, viii buck up against each other and the TWO lines may be considered about equal at that particular point Thomas will face S. Morrison, and here again will be a struggle. SO NJ uch for the center. The two Yale tack lers, Rhodes and Wallis, are certainly more than match for Speer and Lewis. who will play against them. At these points Yale will probably have great advantage. Crosby will probably be superseded at the right end by Moyle or Ridgway, as his work in the Harvard game was not of the best. Hartwell will play the other end and will have Furniss against him. Furniss, although a player possessing rare pluck, is liable TO be outplayed by the Galensian. PRINCETON GOOD POINTS. Behind the line Princeton is undeniably the stronger Poe at quarter back is the best in the country and is far superior to Barbour. Spicer and King play like clock work together, and are lully as good as any half backs that Yale can produce. 1t is question whether Williams will be well enough to play or not. If he does not play Bliss will help McClung out The latter is considered an eXcelient running and kick ing half back. Homans is fully as good as Harvey at full back and is much better than B. Morrison, who will probably play for Yale. The teams will probably line up as g.11
