CHICAGO WORKS ON PURDUE AGAIN Small Score Run Up by Maroons Thought to be one Of Stages Old Tricks. UNITED Press Leased Wire Service.l CHICAGO, Oct. 26- Chicago’s vic tory over Purdue this afternoon made it almost certain that the champion ship of the conference elevens will be decided at Madison next Saturday when the Maroons meet Wisconsin. The score today was Chicago Z, Purdue O. The score last Saturday was Wisconsin AZ; Purdue 0. The two scores cannot be compared to get a line on the strength of Chicago and Wisconsin. 1t Is a well known trick of Coach A. A. Stages to have his Chicago warriors win a game like todays by a small score, and then throw their full strength into team that has piled up a much larger total against the same aggregation. Today’s scoring was done in the second period. The ball was in Purdues territory, and Oliphant tried a punt. Paine blocked and the ball was Chicago’s on Purdue’s ten yard line. Pierce hit right tackle for three yards, repeated the play for four and Nor gren went through center for a touchdown, Sellers kicking goal.
