NAVY WINS 3 TO 0. Sailors Spring Big Surprise on the Sol diers. Sailors Spring Big Surprise on the Sol diers. Philadelphia, Nov. 2S,--That old rule which teaches that if one cares to sue coed he must try. try again, was forcibly brought to mind on Franklin field Saturday afternoon, when the navy, in hard and clean game of football and before q large and enthusiastic crowd defeated their old rivals, the army, by the score of to o. After six attempts to boot the ball from placement over the West Point goal line, Dalton, the sturdy right half. back of the midshipman team, succeeded on his seventh effort, and the three points, which he had been striving for, looked good to the navy and proved to be sufficient to win the game. 1t was a pretty kick, squsrely between the goal posts, and was made toward the end Of the last period of play. The kick almost broke the army’s heart, but, true to the traditions of the teams that have fought for West Point before them, the army stuck to it and did not show the white feather The navy deserved the victory, for the midshipmen put up sterling game and outplayed the cadets from the initial kickoff down TO the instant when field Judge Fultz threw up his hand and deelared the contest at an end.
